Project Description:
Located in the city of Canton, Georgia, Marriott’s TownePlace Suites and Fairfield Inn & Suites masterfully blend the brands’ modern simplicity with the local architectural vernacular. The ROHM Group tapped //3877 as Architect for the new construction project to help refine its dual-brand concept, highlighting the strengths of each. The design team aimed to convey a contemporary, seamless, and approachable property for both business and leisure travelers.
This TownePlace Suites and Fairfield Inn & Suites boasts four stories and 105 guest rooms across 60,000-square-feet. The wood-framed structure is wrapped with a high-performance building envelope, maximizing economy and sustainability. The facade features mixed materials, including brick and wood-look aluminum siding, as well as trellis structures that lend modern polish and natural warmth to the exterior. A generous outdoor patio space includes a pool, plenty of seating, televised entertainment, and guest grilling area for poolside gatherings and cookouts. The property is outfitted with extensive landscaping, including a meandering walking path and bench seating nestled into the planted areas –– adding a biophilic touch to the design. Inside, the custom lobby features the cornerstone elements of the iconic chain’s hotels, creating a cohesive and modern space that makes guests feel welcome through recognizable brand elements. The property offers guests an array of amenities including a breakfast dining lounge, a grab-and-go market, a fitness center, and various meeting rooms.
The hotel design is instrumental in helping Marriott International continue to prototype its dual-branded hotel development, setting the tone for iterations to come. The result is a successful blend of the iconic hotel’s aesthetic and local materiality, a welcomed addition to the City of Canton.
