Project Description:
The brainchild of interior design and architecture firm //3877, Pulse Fitness Studio’s design was conceptualized with the busy professional in mind, offering locals a high-energy space to sweat out the stresses of the day. Infused with vibrant hues and distinctive brand elements laced with high-intensity LED lights, the studio imparts a club-like ambiance upon its guests. Driving attention to the studio’s unique workout, which is structured around versaclimber based group classes, Pulse’s theme proves energetic and lively.
Nestled within the lower-level of a Class A office building, the studio is accessed through a discreet staircase that brings fitness-goers into a reception space. Upon entering, a ‘client hero wall’ becomes apparent, showcasing client wins to inspire others. The main corridor is home to a spirited intermixing of purple and pink splashes across the space’s walls; decals and graphics are integrated into this zone as well. Dramatic linear and diagonal light fixtures flash a colorful glow throughout, presenting a range of cool and warm tones that assert a club-like mood. Adjacent to the central reception, guests will find a generous locker area that flows into full restroom facilities – showers included – for both pre-and-post workout preparations. In similar fashion, across from the reception space guests have access to a designated grab-n-go area that will house beverages and lunch orders for guests who purchased items through Pulse’s pre-order program.
Modern laser-cut signage accentuated by backlighting aids in directing guests to Pulse’s two studio spaces — one of which is dedicated to stationary versaclimber-centric fitness routines and another that provides guests with a dynamic, circuit style workout. Within each studio, interactive screens and integrated speakers take center stage, playing an essential role in the design of both the workout and the space. Particular attention was given to the acoustical elements to negate sound overflow into the above office spaces. Lighting was also deemed a priority, with control stations installed near the instructors homebase, providing instructors with the ability to alter light stream. Following suit in color scheme, the studios similarly integrate bright pink and purple hues, in addition to deep gray and black tones to instill the same sense of energy that Pulse’s motto – ‘never miss a beat’ – accomplishes.
